RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication and is a way to publish information on the web from sources which are frequently updated. The biggest benefit for users is that they don't have to constantly go back to their favourite blogs or websites to check for new information.

They are automatically notified if they have put the RSS feed (the RSS output containing all the new content from the website) into an RSS �feed reader�.

A feed reader is a device or web service for reading RSS feeds from a central location. Google has an excellent feed reader. You can also put RSS feeds into many mail clients like Microsoft Outlook. Each time a website updates it content, you will get an email!

You can put all the RSS feeds from your favourite sites into one location like your Outlook or Google's RSS reader and read all new entries each day from one location from all your favourite sites rather than having to go to dozens of sites.

An RSS network is a way to knit all your web properties RSS feeds together in a way which blasts your content to dozens of sites on autopilot when you update your web content at any one of your web 2.0 sites.

What Is It?

The RSS network must initially have 2 articles and 2 URL's in order to be populated with content to work properly. RSS directories won't accept empty RSS feeds...so we have to put something in there.

This RSS network should be set up before any of the other marketing services are accessed as good practise. It isn't required, but it's strongly recommended. This is because many of the other marketing services require account openings, and this service allows all those accounts to be opened while providing a robust foundation to ongoing SEO.

Let's look at what is contained in the RSS network service.

Post job report back to the client

This strategy provides an excellent bedrock to ongoing SEO since each article, social bookmark and blog post done in future is fed through to all the RSS directories (more than 40 of them) using the RSS feeds as the delivery mechanism.

This means back links are created on autopilot since the pre built RSS network is updated automatically by the RSS feeds which have been fed into them. This is automatic content syndication.

Now, if you're thinking this is a lot of work, you're right...it is. The end result looks something like this...

Here's how it works.

Wordpress feeds

Here's the way it works for a website.
Imagine you make a blog post. That post is added to your wordpress tagged feeds, your category feeds and your blog feed.
It is in three feeds so far.

Social bookmarking feeds

Then you social bookmark the blog post in delicious, digg and dozens of other social bookmarking.

The blog post now appears in your social bookmarking account RSS feeds.

The RSS feeds from the social networking sites now also have your blog posts title, Meta data and a back link. You now have 53 back links.

Article Directory Feeds

You can then extend the blog post a little and distribute this article to 30 article directories.

The article now appears in the article directory feeds for the authors account...to give another 30 feeds.

All the RSS feeds from your site and various 2.0 web properties (article directories and social bookmarking accounts) are feed into 40 RSS directories. Once this is done, the real long term magic begins.

ALL entries in the feeds are then AUTOMATICALLY blasted out to the entire RSS network (The RSS directories) once you make a blog post or an article directory submission.

Remember, the RSS feeds which have been fed into the RSS directories update themselves!

This means that you have 33 versions of your blog post. 50 versions of your social bookmark and 30 versions of your article appearing over 40 or more RSS networks....on AUTOPILOT once you make a blog post....creating near instant back links.

How many back links? Each instance of each social bookmark, (there are 50 of them), article submission (30 of those) and each category, tag and your general blog RSS feed all appears on 40 sites.

So...the total number of back links is 30 directory listings plus 50 social bookmarking listings plus 3 (from the blog) MULTIPLIED BY 40 times in RSS directories. One hour of work will produce 3320 back links!

Of course, it never works out like this but you could still get well over 1000 back links since some article directories and social networking sites don't offer RSS feeds....but it's a HUGE number of back links.

The search terms cannot be very competitive. Less than 10,000 results in the SERP's in ��.
